Your Rights and Responsibilities as a Citizen
Students will gain an understanding of their rights and responsibilities
as citizens and how these rights translate in relation to theft special
needs.
- Students will become acquainted with theft rights and responsibilities
through studying the Bill of Rights and texts relating to the constitution.
- Students will learn what these rights and responsibilities mean by
putting them into practice.
- Students will register to vote and vote in local and federal elections
if possible.
- Students will practice “courteous” free speech by contacting
art elected official by letter, phone or email regarding an issue that
concerns them.
- Students will become acquainted with trial systems by studying accused
rights and the responsibilities of jurors.
- Students will debate pros and cons of gun ownership.
- Students will debate current events as they relate to rights of citizenship.
