  • Copy articles from computer;
  • Vocabulary – Political jargon;
  • Do you believe T.V. ads
Introduction

We must make informed choices – what’s fact, what’s fiction – are all campaign ads to be trusted & think for yourself

Practice

More discussion – anything new you haven’t thought of before or change your ideas or beliefs.

Presentation
  • Who can vote?
  • What is responsibility?
  • Have you even voted?
  • Explain we must register to vote ( a privilege)
  • What does a ballot look like?
    • more than just candidates
    • use newspaper clippings, etc.
    • What conclusion do you have?
  • Can this info be verified?
Evaluation

Register to vote. Copy ballot & how to fill it out

Application/Extension

Use new vocabulary in discussion. Actually signing up to vote.

Materials/Supplies Needed

Newspapers, handouts from different campaign headquarters & info from courthouse, workbook, American Government
